Over 85 societies at my University have drafted a statement condemning the gender critical stall set up by @_ConnieShaw and @MaeveHalligan on the University of Leeds campus. For societies supposedly espousing "openness, not hostility", this seems a bit of an overreaction.

- ✍️ "A simple pleasure, like enjoying a pint at the pub on a Friday, is being squeezed by the relentless growth of the tax burden driving prices ever higher" Pleased to have my piece on overtaxation published in @the_tpa blog earlier today!
- Was pointing this out to a friend the other day: Students/young people going on nights out now have less choice in short-term smoking products, pushing them onto packs of cigarettes. It's the equivalent of banning cans of lager to force people to buy kegs instead. Madness.Today, DEFRA's ban on disposable vapes comes into force. Here's my article in @spectator explaining why this is the epitome of petty-minded, illiberal, pointless, counter-productive laws. There are plenty more in the pipeline. Grrr.
- Replying to @_ConnieShawConsidering the kind of the stuff the Communists and Palestine protesters get away with on campus (loud protests, death threats etc.) this continued silencing and intimidation is clearly political game playing by Leeds Uni
- Really pleased to have been featured in @CapX today. The people of Britain need to rediscover community and reject the false comfort of the welfare state.'Like many other Western societies, Britain today has seen great leaps in technology, finance and medicine. 'Yet despite these advances, we have seen Britain lose the parts of itself that gave us this success. 'Few key markers of post-war Britain remain. Our trust in leaders,

- Does Angela Rayner really think the government is "helping working people"? About as ridiculous as Labour being 'the most pro business government ever' #BBCLauraK
- Rayner starting every answer with "I'm not going to speculate on this" Sure, don't speculate, but some thinking might be good! #BBCLauraK
- What John Healey doesn't seem to understand is that those leaving the armed forces aren't doing it because of lack of pay or living conditions. It's because people aren't proud to live in and defend Britain and conversations I've had with veterans prove that. #BBCLauraK
- Woah let's not offend the terrorists guys, they're people too
- Clamping down on cigarettes only opens a door for black markets to form as we can see here. If people want to smoke, let them smoke! One in four cigarettes consumed in the UK found to be illicit conveniencestore.co.uk/news/one-in-fo…
- It's unsurprising that Reform are doing so well in traditional working class Labour areas such as Durham. The sooner they realise that more voters care about standard of living than progressivism, the better for us all.Replying to @PolitlcsUKHinder, an ex-Police Inspector, says: "This is existential for the Labour Party now. Our drift away from our working-class base has been decades in the making, and goes far deeper than the tenure of any one leader. "Platitudes about “listening” and “learning” will not do. It is
- Replying to @darrengrimesThis kind of perverse progressivism only succeeds at keeping women away from positions of leadership in favour of a biological man. Let's call this for what it is, blatant discrimination against women
