Look up around 11:30 this morning!
ICYMI: Waterloo Warbirds are taking to the sky this morning as part of a salute to our healthcare professionals, other frontline workers and emergency responders, as they all battle COVID-19. bit.ly/2SWiqUM
Debating whether to go out or stay home this afternoon? Our advice is - stay off the roads if you can!
Icy, slushy conditions on city streets, area highways, and the 401 in both directions. Prepare for hazardous roadways and much longer travel times. #DriveSafe
HEADS UP: Reports that the LRT has lost power to all stops between Waterloo Town Square and Conestoga Mall. Trains are not moving beyond Uptown Waterloo.
We're hearing reports from several *401 callers of a large fire in Kitchener in the Grand View Woods North area just west of Sportworld.
That fire is creating a visual distraction / smoke for traffic on HWY 8 through the area of the Grand River.
Some more #GoodNews for motorists in Waterloo Region - the Franklin Boulevard bridge in @cityofcambridge is now REOPEN between Pinebush and Jamieson!
However, the WB 401 on-ramp from Franklin remains CLOSED at this time.
UPDATE: HWY 7/8 now CLOSED in both directions from Foundry to Queen due to downed hydro lines; no current reopening time known, avoid area and use caution.
