    3 traders were arrested in Nairobi yesterday using banned plastic bags. About 500 pieces of the bags were seized. The trio are being presented in court today. According to Section 144 of EMCA, any person using banned bags is liable to 2-4 million fine or imprisonment of 1-4 years

    NEMA today arrested 7 traders from Ololulunga Market with banned plastics bags. The traders will appear in court. NEMA appeals to all markets countrywide to desist using banned plastic bags and any offender found guilty risks a fine of not less than 2m or 6 months jail term.

    NEMA has stopped operations of Boulevard Hotel in Nairobi with immediate effect for discharging untreated effluent into Nairobi River. The hotel has also been ordered to remove pipes discharging effluent into the River. @Environment_Ke @dailynation @StandardKenya
