To PAC or not to PAC that is the question the #PACCS #RCT will answer. The #CSWG announces enrollment of the first #HF patient <2 weeks after trial activation. This is the #Door2PAC RCT to address recent guideline changes for PAC use in #cardiogenicshock clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05…

- Congratulations to the Inaugural #CSWG SEAL Team 7. These hand-selected & highly trained individuals possess an exceptional proficiency in executing academic missions and will serve for 2 years as we work to improve outcomes for patients with cardiogenic shock @TuftsMedicine
- Thank you @the_asci Grateful to my family, mentors, mentees, collaborators, and research team members over the years and to @TuftsMedicalCtr, @TuftsMCResearch and @hopkinsheartCongratulations @NavinKapur4, Investigator & Director of Cardiac Biology Research Center at the Tufts MC MCRI for his election into @the_asci, which recognizes the most impactful physician-investigators in the nation: bit.ly/33eeUNK
- Excited to be part of the future of transvalvular ventricular #unloading with the #Impella #ECP from @ABiomed First and only center in New England to offer this 9Fr #innovation for complex #PCI to our patients and IC/HF Fellows @TuftsMedicalCtr Single Angioseal on the way out!
- 2 centimeters of plastic to save a life - this #shock widget saves limbs and lives when #ECMO is required. Key tools for the on call IC shock operator. #CSWG @DrAmirKaki @SandeepNathanMD @TheNarulaSeries @agtruesdell @JHMontfort10 @ShashankSinhaMD @SripalBangalore @manreetkanwar
- Grateful to @CircAHA for publishing our @nih_nhlbi funded 'bed-to-bench' research identifying novel mechanisms (and therapeutic targets) by which #ECMO regulates myocardial biology and #mitochondrial integrity that are independent of #hemodynamic load. ahajournals.org/doi/abs/10.116…
- Replying to @thiele_holgerIt’s not about belief. It’s about physiology. IABPs target afterload - a key determinant of CO. IABPs play an important role when high afterload is involved - ie advanced HF or late presenting MI. Not all shock is equal. Hemodynamics may identify responders. Yes RCTs required.
- Please congratulate Song Li @lisong2003 who is the Inaugural Director of Data Science for the #CSWG. He is a #rigorous physician-scientist, #disruptive innovator, #badass coder, and #fantastic partner. We are thrilled to have him lead our statistical group! @TuftsMedicalCtr
- Congratulations to the Interventional Team @TuftsMedicalCtr and @NateRids2 @LowellGHospital for enrolling the 3rd patient worldwide and 1st in New England in the @abiomedimpella PROTECT IV RCT for complex PCI. Kudos to @GreggWStone, Stephan Windecker, and the P4 Trial Team
- The #CSWG was honored to recognize @BurkhoffMd with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to cardiovascular medicine, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, hemodynamics, and for his humility and mentorship. Thank you Marty Leon for the Keynote! @crfheart @hopkinsheart
- Is this LV Loaded? Proximal LAD occlusion with anterior #STEMI without shock. Is unleashing reperfusion injury our best option in 2022? Luckily this patient arrived at a #STEMI DTU site. Get involved and reduce the burden of ischemic heart failure! Time to Unload @BillONeillMD
00:00 - Thank you to @vbluml and @Abraham_Jacob for this amazing figure illustrating distinct aspects of HF vs MI causes of cardiogenic shock and various staging schemes at the #CSWG Summit today
- Congratulations to @ElricZweck and our #CSWG ML-AI team for this recent report in @JAHA_AHA on phenotypic #cardiogenicshock. New insights including methods, @SCAI staging, and hemo-metabolic variables. Let’s implement new knowledge to improve outcomes! doi.org/10.1161/jaha.1…
