I have plenty of speaking events this year, mainly at some of the largest history festivals in Britain. My latest book, 'Son of Prophecy', the Tudor family biography that looks at their story before they became kings and queens, is out in paperback in August.

As is sadly the case every year when it floods in Tewkesbury, always fascinated by how the abbey and much of the old town remains clear of floodwater. They weren't dumb, our ancestors.

Someone needs to do a Google Maps, but for the past. For example, typing in "London to York" but you can select a period e.g. 1450s, and it would give you the likeliest route. That'd be great.

Joan of Arc could not write. And yet, here's her signature. Her ACTUAL signature, seen for the first time outside France ๐Ÿคฏ See it in the British Library's brand new exhibition for yourself.

24 hours in Britain. An MP murdered for doing her job. Football fans taunting refugee kids. Racist billboards from UKIP. Wow Britain, Wow.

What an honour to be invited to the launch of the British Library's incredible new exhibiton, 'Medieval Women: In Their Own Words'. An extraordinary achievement by the curatorial team. I'm overwhelmed by the scale of it all.

If Arthur Tudor hadn't died aged 15, we'd have got this book in January 1523. I bet it would have been AMAZING.

On 21 July 1403, Henry Hotspur Percy loses the battle of Shrewsbury to Henry IV and Prince Henry. As a result, the Tripartite Indenture between the Percys, the Mortimers and Owain Glyn Dwr, which divided England and Wales, collapses. What a set of kingdoms we might have had.

It's taken just under four years and a LOT of Earth-rocking curveballs throughout the writing process but look what I finally have in my hand ๐Ÿ‘€. I did it, and that's that.

People will remember JPR Williams taking the ball high and going on a run, but this is it. Cleans the French winger right out.
