    I’m glad that Matthew Parris has put this into the public ether - I’ve had a nagging doubt since he resigned that Johnson promoted Truss’s candidature as his best route back to Downing Street, and he couldn’t help boasting about it with his Cincinnatus comments at the time

    Proving the point that we were right to fight against Corbyn’s hard left takeover of the Labour Party. The party has been transformed under Keir Starmer - we can never go back to the chaos of 2015-19, the country will always deserve better
