Nate Boyer, the ex-Green Beret who inspired Colin Kaepernick to kneel instead of sitting during the national anthem, would like to clear a few things up lat.ms/2Ng9ubX
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KNEEL TO JOIN THE FIGHT FOR RACIAL EQUALITY IN THIS COUNTRY
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STAND TO LOVE THIS COUNTRY AND THOSE THAT FOUGHT FOR IT...
Damn y’all, c’mon! It’s been 4 years 🇺🇸
Some are offended, some aren't, it's really that simple. To push roughly 20 million Veterans onto one side or the other of the Anthem debate (bc you know a Vet who feels a certain way) is just stupid. We're as diverse (and sometimes just as stupid) as any other American microcosm
I’m not onboard with this shit. Felt it in Iraq & Afghanistan when people threw rocks, spat at us, etc. Those I intended to fight for and protect. Not everyone in that UNIFORM has a Storm Trooper mentality. Those stereotypes gotta end too or the right people will never wear it...
I will continue to stand with pride when the Anthem is played. That doesn’t mean I’m “against” or “don’t support” the REASON others kneel. We can spend the rest of our lives debating whether sitting, kneeling, standing on your head is offensive or we can focus on fixing the WHY🇺🇸
THAT IS ME on the Veterans Day special of @NBCThisisUs I gotta applaud @justinhartley and @JayGlazer for not only encouraging me to go for it, but for putting in a good word with the Network. Thank you @nbc for hiring a Vet, and thank you Vet community for always having my back!!
6 years ago today this photo was taken in the mountains of Afghanistan, my final month on deployment. We were all beat up by then, but still standing. Kinda feels like today in America — minus the gunfights, IEDs, etc. So buck up cowboy, we’ll get through it, ok?#4thofJuly 🇺🇸 DOL
Would appreciate a brief moment of silence for this today. The US military is the most diverse microcosm in America, and these brave men fought FOR her and AGAINST oppression. 2,500 of them died on the beaches of Normandy. They died for ALL of us, now let’s ALL do better for them
76 years ago today, thousands of valiant U.S. soldiers stormed the beaches at Normandy during #DDay so that we might be free today.
It’s long past time for us to ensure that the freedom for which they gave their lives is finally a reality today for all Americans!
#NeverForget🇺🇸
Welp, it’s #FlagDay 🇺🇸 Just a friendly reminder that it’s not racist to honor it & it’s not unpatriotic to kneel before it. From Independence Hall in Philly to the friggin’ Moon in Outer Space the Ragged Old Flag has endured; a symbol of freedom & hope, not yet experienced by ALL
