- NYSD 2020 is officially "in the books" A bit weird and a bit of a faff on at times, but we got half a season in. 15 competitions - 11 different clubs won silverware. We hope you enjoyed it. Thanks the clubs and officials whose hard work made it possible to enjoy some normality.
- Devastating news reaches the League of the passing of Norman Thurlow, aged 88. A true stalwart of Great Ayton CC, but also an umpire in the NYSD and a long serving member of the League Management Committee. A true man of cricket. RIP Norman.
- Congratulations to @BarnardCastleCC who have qualified for the last 8 of the ECB National T20 competition by winning the area final at South Northumberland today, with victories over the hosts and York CC

- Congratulations to Boro’s Yash Vagadia, aged 15 yrs 3mths, picked in the top 24 players at the famous Bunbury Festival and has been selected in the combined North/Midlands squad to play the South at Loughborough on 26th/27th August – next stop England?
- Green light. League fixtures - half a season will be played, starting Saturday 18th July, usual format. Cups - Kerridge, MacMillan, Haith, Readman, Ken Welsh and Arthur Sanders cups, with a winner ON THE NIGHT - even if that means bowl out or (last resort) toss of coin.
- The National T20 final awaits for @BarnardCastleCC where they will play Tunbridge Wells CC @TWCricketClub of Kent.
- More deserved success for Babs Noor as he is elevated to the ECB National Panel of Umpires, eligible for County Second XI matches and Minor Counties games.
