    Today, we remember Police Officer Madeline Carlo who died on July 15, 2007. Madeline contracted lung cancer after inhaling toxic chemicals and particles while working at Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. #NeverForget

    We gave our last salute as we laid to rest our brother, Officer Johnny Lawrence, who passed away after a long battle with cancer. Rest in Peace Johnny. You will be missed.

    We stand with the West Virginia State Police mourning the loss of Sgt. Cory Maynard who was shot and killed in the line of duty yesterday in Mingo County. We pray for his family, friends, coworkers and all who knew him. May he rest in peace. Rest In Peace

    On April 9th, 2014, Police Officer Dennis Guerra, assigned to Police Service Area #1, succumbed to injuries he received three days prior when responding to a fire in an apartment building. Today we keep true to our promise to never forget our fallen brother. May he Rest In Peace

    We gave our final salute today as we joined with family, friends and fellow Housing Officers of PSA9 to say goodbye to Officer Ryan McKenna. He tragically died last week in an off duty car accident. May he rest in eternal peace.

    Today was Gun & Shield Day at the Academy for NYPD recruits, who will be graduating soon. I was proud and reminiscent as I pinned former Housing Cadet Lynn Noga—who now wears my former shield. Congratulations, Lynn! Make me proud! 👏🏽
