- Good news, we have a adopted a senior coonhound. Very thin, but very sweet girl. She cried non stop in the shelter until a nice foster took her. She came to farm yesterday. Meet Blanche.
- More loads of hay donated by area farmers to feed cows in North Carolina.
- Knoxville area farmers forming hay convoy to get hay into hungry animals in flood zone.
- Good news. All 2,000 cows saved in bad barn fire last night. The farmers rushed cows out of barns, neighbors rallied to take cows to other farms for shelter, milking and feeding. 18 volunteer fire companies and Amish assisted.
- Good news, I have found pictures of some of the individual mules working in one of the mule trains in NC on Facebook. Will post a few.
- Ever so proud of our farm worker. Cow milker, calf raiser, field hand. Drove beat up truck an hour to @SUNYCobleskill daily. Now….she and her dog heading out out to @cornellvet to become a large animal veterinarian. Go girl! Accepted at 5 vet schools!
- Our local farm auction house has put together a tractor trailer load of high quality forage for cows in the hurricane zone. Enroute now.
- The blizzard ended. The 1865 barn held strong in the winds. Milk truck made it in to pick up milk. Headed to Chobani. Enjoy your yogurt!
- A local fencing company and a farmer teamed up to send a load of fencing supplies and hay to North Carolina farmers. Volunteers are driving. On the way from NY.
- Meet Walter, an elder dog from a big city shelter. No one wanted him. He is now a farm dog. We brought him home to the farm, He loves watching farm traffic and people coming and going.
