Whoopi Goldberg trashed bike lanes, so we asked @TheView to have us on the show so we can explain how bike lanes would have saved our loved ones.

We’re at City Hall Park setting up more than 200 pairs of shoes to represent the lives lost to traffic violence on NYC streets in 2020. #WDoR2020

A 99-year-old Holocaust survivor is now dead because there was no safe way for him to cross the street in his electric wheelchair to get to his synagogue on Saturday. This street is known to be deadly. We are devastated and offer our condolences to the family of Jack Mikulincer.

"I was hit by an 18 wheeler semi truck that left me permanently blinded...I was looking forward to congestion pricing happening because it would prevent more traumatic injuries and deaths. I am deeply angered and feel the governor has betrayed us,” -- FSS member Emilie Gossiaux

We’re advancing a package of 8 (!) bills in Albany this spring with @TransAlt that have the potential to usher in a new era of safety and justice for New Yorkers. These are exciting measures that have the potential to really move the needle and save lives. But we need your help!

#4. Vehicle Safety Rating & Labeling (S4307/A575): Would require warning labels for SUVs/pickup trucks warning consumers of their dangers to pedestrians and cyclists. Would be displayed at point of sale across NYS, like fuel efficiency rating This is a first of its kind bill 👀

x.com/AoDespair/stat… Hi David, we've all lost loved ones to traffic crashes or have been seriously injured. We would love to sit down with you and give you the scoop on the history of New York City's speed safety camera program. This is a very important story to tell.
What sort of off-brand city sends me a $50 camera ticket for speeding in a school zone for racing at 36 mph in a 25 zone at -- wait for it -- 5:40 a.m. in total darkness on a morning in -- wait for it -- mid-July? Two-word clue: Yankees Suck.

We joined @Sen_Gounardes today to introduce new legislation to hold reckless drivers accountable. When people drive drunk, we put a device in cars to prevent it from happening again. When people speed, repeatedly, we should use similar technology to stop that.
Slow down reckless drivers. Install intelligent speed assistance devices on repeat violators' cars

Police blamed Lauren Davis, 34, after she was killed while cycling. Accused her of biking the wrong direction (she wasn't). This is why our Crash Victims' Bill of Rights is important. It gives crash victims timely access to police reports, allows them to testify at DMV hearings.

Today we attended a taping of @TheView to deliver a letter to @WhoopiGoldberg. We wanted to continue the conversation she began about the national epidemic of traffic fatalities.

"A wipeout on the Tour de France is a bicycle accident. Getting rammed from behind by a car is not a bicycle accident." Agreed. This was a tragic, preventable crash. We must shift language to confront traffic violence. Our ♥️ is with the Bradley family.

Passed *with a supermajority* -- further proof that safe streets are not controversial.
