- Thunderstorms move through southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri late Thursday afternoon and evening. Large hail up to golf balls and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph will be the primary hazards, with a secondary risk for tornadoes. Remain Weather Aware!
- Thunderstorms are expected to develop along a front to the northwest on Thursday afternoon and move through the area into the evening. Here is an estimated timeline of thunderstorm arrival.
- Low confidence in a few isolated strong to severe thunderstorms making it into portions of southeast KS and west-central MO after 9 PM tonight. Most of the area remains dry. Remain Weather Aware!
- NWS Survey Teams found 4 additional tornadoes from the Sunday, June 7th severe weather event, bringing the total to five when including the Battlefield tornado that was documented in a previous post.
- There is the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening. The primary hazards are large hail and damaging wind gusts. If shear increases, a tornado threat may materialize. Localized flash flooding may occur where repeated thunderstorms
- Hot and humid conditions persist through Thursday. Low confidence in shower and thunderstorm chances (15-30%) Wednesday night, with the better chances (60-90%) coming on Thursday with a frontal passage. Cooler into the weekend, with additional widespread rain chances returning.
