- Scattered showers and thunderstorms should diminish this evening. Daily rain chances start to ramp up across all of central Alabama over the weekend, which is likely continue into next week.

- Showers with a few thunderstorms will continue to move to the south near 25 mph through the afternoon. This activity may produce gusty winds along with heavy rain and lightning. A few showers and storms may develop ahead of this activity across our central counties this afternoon
- Shower and storm chances northwest later today with highs in the low to mid 90s. West wind 4-8 mph. Isolated showers and some storms north and central tonight with lows in the mid 70s. Scattered showers and storms Saturday with highs in the low to mid 90s.
- After a warm/muggy end of the week, we will see increasing rain chances across Central AL this weekend and into early next week.
- Here is the latest Drought Monitor update for Alabama. Abnormally Dry to Moderate drought conditions remain in place across much of the region. Drought conditions are likely to remain. However, slow improvements are expected.

- The big story for central Alabama over the next couple days will continue to be the heat and humidity, with heat index values near 100 degrees in many area. Things will moderate early next week, as rain chances start to climb once again.

- Low-end shower chances will linger overnight, with perhaps a rumble of thunder or two mixed in. Otherwise, tomorrow will be mostly dry, with only scattered shower and thunderstorm chances in our NE.
