Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was born Princess Elizabeth of York on 21 April 1926 in London. As a young royal, countless images of the Queen were captured β from her first years to the earliest moments of her royal duties.
Today marks 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne, making her the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. Β
This portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was taken in 1952, the year before her coronation.
As Queen Elizabeth IIβs rule became record-breaking, new portraits captured spoke specifically to the longevity of her reign β like this one, taken by David Bailey on the year of her 88th birthday.
Weβre wishing HRH The Duchess of Cambridge a wonderful birthdayπ
To celebrate this day, we are pleased to announce that these three new portraits of The Duchess, taken by Paolo Roversi, have entered our Collection.
We are extremely saddened to learn of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh this morning. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Her Majesty The Queen and all of the Royal Family.
