- Four months ago, at Saint Peter's home opener vs. LIU, the attendance was 434 (four hundred and thirty-four). The game was not televised. Tonight, the eyes of the nation are on the Peacocks. Only in college basketball.
- Dear under-40 Knicks fans: This is what the 1990s were like. Gritty team, small margin for error, endless drama, cartoonish villains. For an entire decade. Great to have the Knicks back.
- A reporter asked Doug Edert about his "Kobe-esque moment" of jumping on the press table in the postgame celebration. Holloway (shooting Edert a death stare): "You got up on the table?" Edert: Next question, next question.
- No surprise, but nonetheless: Shaheen Holloway is expected to finalize terms in the coming days to become Seton Hall’s next head coach. He’ll be introduced no later than Wednesday. A favorite son -- the favorite son -- is coming home.

- Myles Powell and Markus Howard, two first-team All-Americans who scored a combined 5,000 collegiate points, just went undrafted. Geez.

- Trust me on this: Everyone associated with basketball in New Jersey, at all levels, is pulling for Shaheen Holloway right now.
- This is Tyler Cook, Rutgers’ head manager. Hails from Howell. This is his senior day too. Managers are the backbone of college sports.
- More people watched Seton Hall-Indiana State (1.4 million) than watched a bunch of NCAA Tournament games. It also beat out some NBA and MLB ratings and was the most-watched Seton Hall game of the season. The decision to play in the NIT was a slam dunk for the program & its fans
- More people watched Saint Peters - North Carolina than any of the first five games of the World Series. It's time for college basketball.
- Purdue NEVER wants to see a Jersey team again.
