URGENT: we are hearing credible reports of detentions at US borders, both of Iranian Americans and permanent residents. We are working to independently verify, coordinating with lawmakers & allies. If you have information please share it directly with us at [email protected]
"Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has renewed calls for the US to suspend sanctions against Iran, as the country's crippled healthcare system struggles to deal with the rapid spread of the coronavirus."

.@NBCNews claims US officials have discussed joining Israel in offensive strikes against Iran, and passing them off as “defensive" after the fact.
This should raise alarm bells - Congress has not declared war on Iran, which would be disastrous for the U.S. and the region.
The common denominator is Iranian heritage, which should raise concerns of discriminatory and illegal actions targeting on the basis of national origin. This is no surprise coming from this administration, which instituted a Muslim ban in its first week
Trump: But if I were the president, I would inform the threatening country -- in this case, Iran -- that if you do anything to harm this person, we are going to blow your largest cities and the country itself to smithereens. We are going to blow it to smithereens.
We condemn the outrageous treatment of Ronaghi by Iranian authorities and call for his immediate release. Ronaghi and others are welcome to criticize us, though we work only to advance democratic values and stand in support of all Iranians fighting for freedom.
This is Wall Street Journal Contributor Hossein Ronaghi being savagely beaten by security forces & now suffers in Evin prison in Iran.
He always criticized Islamic Republic, @NIACouncil and #IranLoby outside Iran.
The regime broke both his leg & intends to kill him.

We are still in the info-gathering stage, but reports suggest that many individuals of Iranian heritage have been detained for questioning at ports of entry - both at airports and border crossings. Most reports are originating from the Peace Arch border crossing in Blaine, WA.
The slanderous accusations against NIAC from Sens. Cotton, Cruz & Braun have zero merit. But they are indicative of a campaign to intimidate pro-peace #Iranian Americans from halting the admin’s push toward war, which Cotton & Cruz have long championed.

Members of Congress and other immigration and community-based organizations and activists are hearing the same reports, and we are seeking to connect individuals impacted with legislators in order to secure their release and halt unwarranted and discriminatory detentions.
