- NABJ Chicago sends heartfelt condolences and prayers to former WGN-TV Anchor Allison Payne. She passed away at 57 years old, inspiring so many Black journalists during her time. We will never forget the legacy she set for the next generation. Thank you Allison.
- NABJ-Chicago is heartbroken by the passing of Chicago griot and civil rights hero Timuel Black. It was an absolute joy to hear from him at one of our meetings back in 2019. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
