- BCM Exco expresses its concerns in relation to @mvpeoplesmajlis inquiry into the Safari Rape Case. All allegations of police misconduct require oversight action, but any such act of oversight should not impede or affect an on-going investigation.
- BE2022 has been postponed to a new date. Our priority is supporting aspiring lawyers intending to sit for the first bar exam, and we will continue to support them in this endeavor.
- In light of the Public Health Emergency declared pursuant to Act No. 7/2012 due to #COVIDー19, in order to comply with precautionary advice issued by @HPA_MV, BCM is consulting with @judiciarymv to explore options to ensure the safety of lawyers, clients and court officials.
- The Bar Council of the Maldives strongly condemns the attack on the Speaker of Parliament and former President of the Maldives, President @MohamedNasheed. Our prayers are with all individuals that suffered injuries in this attack, and their families.
- Executive Committee of @MvBarCouncil paid a courtesy visit to @MvHighCourt and met with the Honourable Judges of the High Court. Discussions were held on working together to strengthen ties between the Bar Council and the Judiciary.
