    We are at a loss for words. Deputies & @Corbett_Fire responded to a small brush fire in the 1700 block of NE Brower Rd in Corbett at 3:52pm. Neighbors heard pops and saw 6ft flames in the forest. Using a shovel and water, they were able to put it out. Deputies found fireworks...

    Deputies have contacted several groups of residents in Corbett who have set up checkpoints and are stopping cars. While we understand their intent is to keep the community safe, it is never legal to block a public roadway or force other citizens to stop.

    The fireworks were placed about 100-150 yards off the road. Deputies are conducting high visibility patrols in rural Multnomah County. @Corbett_Fire will remain in the area. If you have any information on this, call the non-emergency line. If you see an active fire, call 911.

    This type of action increases the risk of injury to everyone at one of these roadblocks. We have had extra deputies patrolling Corbett all day and will through the rest of the weekend. Please report suspicious activity to us and do not take action yourselves.

    .@PortlandPolice has declared the gathering near the Multnomah Building a riot after individuals vandalized, repeatedly smashed first floor windows with rocks and threw burning material into an office.

    It’s not just water bottles. These are the items that are being launched at officers. Bricks, glass bottles, blades, ball bearings, mortars and batteries. At high speeds, these items can be deadly. These officers are trying to protect 400 people inside the Justuce Center.

    Update from the Unified Command: A mass gathering on SW 3rd Ave. & SW Main St. has been hostile to officers trying to clear the street, which is open to traffic. During multiple attempts to disengage, full cans, rocks and other objects were thrown at officers.

    Despite multiple warnings to disperse, protesters pushed the fence over. Deputies deployed smoke as a deterrent. When smoke was not effective, gas was deployed. There are approx. 400 people inside the Justice Center. We're legally& morally responsible for their health and safety.

    Demonstrators have gathered in Chapman Park. People are launching large commercial grade fireworks at the Justice Center. Stop. It's an extreme fire risk and impacting hundreds of people, both working and housed, inside the building who cannot be relocated.
