    Nigeria faces severe U.S. visa restrictions and 24% new tariffs (14% reciprocal + 10% for BRICS alignment) from the U.S. Worth noting that Nigeria has not had an ambassador to the U.S. since Oct 2023, and has not had a consistently engaging ambassador in D.C. for a decade. 1/

    When I tweet on Nigeria, I need to remember to restrict replies to the tweet to people I follow. Unfortunately many cannot disagree in civility anymore. You either align with their POV or they brand you an enemy and shower you with insults and threats. Strange.

    Hoping the #Nigerian government, including state governors, immediately address the extremely disturbing reports and videos of the targeting and killing of innocent #citizens in Oyo State. Immediate action needed to prevent escalation and reprisals. Sad. Deplorable.

    Feels like I’ve been screaming into the void for two years. Mostly privately, to the best of my ability. I’ve expressed deep concern about how the lack of effective diplomatic representation hurts Nigerians & communicates an unmatched level of banana-republic-like unseriousness.
