There is a lesson in this pic. A future MLB draft pick and his dad came to the field to get work in. A huge rain-storm began. Instead of leaving, he insisted on raking his position to leave it in good shape. That guy just was taken with the 66th pick. The game knows! @ptwilson3

The past two nights have taken college baseball to another level. People all over the country have been glued to their TV’s, stadiums are packed and bigger ones are being built. Imagine if the NCAA let them have more than 11.7 scholarships. This isn’t the old days of no revenue..

Leadership is hard. Making tough decisions is hard. Always defend your players and team…..kids need people to defend them more now than ever before.

I want to thank everyone for the staggering number of texts, tweets, emails, etc regarding our situation at Hoover. While things have not gone our way so far I am turning towards the positives I can experience in my unplanned job vacation. Some things I plan to do include:

My hot take: This year, just like after 9/11, sports will be a main vehicle to bring our nation’s communities back together again. Except this time it will be High School Sports...Spring High School Sports. I believe it in my heart we will be back on the field again this year!!

If the crowds in the stands and the players on the field the past few weeks have proven anything it is that universities around the country need to make the investment in 2 things: 1) fully supporting women’s softball 2) find a way to change 11.7 scholarships for baseball

To me the saddest part of the whole deal with Kobe’s death is that he was just doing what a good dad is supposed to do. He was traveling with his daughter to watch her play because that’s what good parents do. They don’t miss games their kids play if they can possibly be there

This young man @FinnMoore2027 had the game winning hit tonight in an important game for us. Postgame he didn’t want any special treatment. Unsurprisingly he said β€œcoach, I’ll get the balls” like he always does. Wouldn’t let a coach carry them. The game knows. It always knows.

Proud coaching moment last night….one of our best players (with tons of juice in his bat) comes up with runners on 1st and 2nd and 0 outs late in a tight game and is excited about the opportunity to bunt them over. Next hitter: single through the drawn in infield. TEAM baseball
