Teaching Assistants are the life blood of our schools and must be recognised and valued through proper pay, terms and conditions.

On a train to London that has stopped as we have hit someone on the line Noisy impatience from fellow passengers with almost no compassion for what appears to be a tragedy. Life is more important than a schedule

It’s not just that Covid isn’t over; judging by our schools it’s the worst it’s ever been. And they know it. And they couldn’t care less.

Heard on the beach “these teachers need to stop whinging- they had the whole of lockdown off and are now moaning about pay” I was about to say something and then Mother Nature intervened and he was stung by 2 wasps in quick succession. Shame.

We must not ever allow Reform to creep into mainstream- look at Le Pen and Italy and weep We are better than hate. Resist

Why do people need to be asked to move bags off of a seat on busy trains. It is so thoughtless Yet still I ask politely “is anyone sitting here?” When I mean “why are you so rude? Move your bag” Ugh

Anyone else think that “Teaching Assistant” no longer describes the role in any meaningful way? The team are highly trained and skilled in so many disciplines and I think the role descriptor should reflect this reality.

All schools - Tier 3 and 4, Primary and Secondary- need to go to blended learning until at least the 18th January to safeguard our children, staff and communities. We need the decision now. Now.

The “cold” that is sweeping though staff, pupils and communities is genuinely horrendous and I’ve never known anything like it, other than the Pandemic. Stay safe and look after yourselves and each other.

A sincere thank you to all in Education who are quietly, thoughtfully and determinedly serving children, staff and communities in this time of need. Those doing it without need for recognition, praise and Empire building should be really proud of the integrity of their actions.

You’re not stupid Katharine you’re unwise. You stoke what should be calmed and you use your voice and platform in a way that is potentially dangerous.
What makes me stupid David? My very successful school? Our great results? Our happy multicultural community? Why do you think I am stupid?

What a long decade this week is proving to be

After reporting a number of accounts for views that are racist, homophobic and even include incitement to violence- none have been upheld. This site is part of the problem not the solution I don’t want to leave. I want it to be better

Nobody in education is saying that these pay rises shouldn’t happen Everyone is saying they must be funded and cannot come at the expense of pupil entitlement or staffing numbers
