I served in the Army for 22 years. There was a Confederate flag on the wall in my office for 22 years. Nobody cared or complained. The Confederate flag is an American flag.

When I signed up for this platform nearly 7 years ago, my purpose was to be an advocate for Southern heritage and for the peaceful secession of the former Confederate states. In that time I have engaged in countless debates, or silly arguments that have essentially been the same.

Happy Louisiana Secession Day! On this date in 1861, Louisiana became the 6th state to secede from the Union. Later, In March 1861, Louisiana would join with the other seceding states of the Confederacy.
