#OnThisDay 1984. Labour MP Dennis Skinner, called on all Labour MP’s to donate the 5 percent pay increase they will receive on New Year's Day to the National Union of Mineworkers. During the #MinersStrike Dennis Skinner gave up all of his parliamentary income to the miners.
