- All 4 state championship games today were blowouts, all won by private schools. I don't think this is what anyone wants to see on championship weekend. The conversation is about to be louder than ever before, especially if tomorrow goes similarly.
- I am proud and excited to say that I will begin 2024 as a full-time sports reporter for the Chicago Tribune and Daily Southtown. The Southtown is the paper I have given my heart and soul to for the vast majority of my professional life. It's good to be home. (continued in thread)
- The new Pope was the leader of the Augustinian Province of Chicago. St. Rita and Providence are Augustinian high schools. The CCL has taken over the Vatican?
- Replying to @realDonaldTrumpYou could at least spell his name right. It's 3 letters long.
- Excited to get started in my new role as a full-time sports reporter for the Joliet Herald-News @HeraldNewsSport. Looking forward to telling the stories of my new community. I'm shifting a bit west, but I will be covering plenty of familiar faces. Everyone else, I'll be around!
- Thank you Frankfort, Mokena and New Lenox, for letting me be a part of your towns this last year. Thanks to all who read. Thanks to all who have already reached out to offer support. I had a blast.
- Lincoln-Way Central students get the award for Optimists of the Year doing the "I Believe That We Will Win" chant down 36 with 6 minutes left.
- Replying to @Millar_S and @realDonaldTrumpAlthough maybe you're thanking John Voight, the periodontist.
- For the last 11+ years, despite not being full-time, I don't think more than a week's gone by without my byline in the Daily Southtown. It's been an amazing ride, but it ends after all-area wrestling runs tomorrow as I move on to an exciting new opportunity. Thanks for reading!
- It needs to be noted that as the private school outrage inevitably pours in, Chicago Christian does not fit the typical narrative. They lost 42-6 to Maroa-Forsyth last year and beat them 47-0 today with more or less same team. 34 kids, 9 seniors starting both ways. A fairytale.
- So long to the 22-23 HS sports year. Appreciate all the athletes/coaches who gave me so many memorable games (and a lot of LONG ones 😆) to cover this year. Thanks for letting me tell your stories! Can't wait to tell more.
