Had a sort through my albums yesterday. This is probably my favourite image taken at a match. The cooling towers, the tackle, the dog looking at the camera. As much as anything, football photography requires a degree of luck. I got very lucky here.
A unique and historic day, as the #rugeleypowerstation cooling towers are demolished during a Stafford & District Sunday Football League game between Brereton Lion FC and Dormans FC.
Before and after shots below.
An unexpected bonus from Saturday’s visit to @Glentoran, was discovering The Oval is on the Belfast City Airport flightpath.
Full album from a quite sensational ground to follow.

One of the most dramatic backdrops I’ve seen at a football match. Stunning.

Britain's amateur football clubs play at some wonderful rural venues. Be sure to check them out once football safely resumes. Some of the settings are breathtaking.
A few examples shown below (Marsden FC, Northend Thistle FC, Railway FC, Ullswater United FC).
Scottish football may not have the financial resources to compete with other nations, but the grounds can be breathtaking, very welcoming and often steeped in history. I could happily spend the rest of my days touring leagues north of the border. @TheJuniorsInfo @Fitba_Stadiums
On the subject of must-see football venues, does anyone know if matches are likely to be played at Bamburgh Castle next season? Surely the John Holmes of ground porn.
A dismally wet day outside, so here is one of my favourite British grounds in sunnier times.
This is Bellslea Park, the stunning home of Highland League club @FraserburghFC . Old main stand, church and sea views. Should be on everyone's bucket list.
