- Can’t recall a player being as raw and real after a game as Travis Grayson. On way to locker room, Brandon Newman was embracing him, trying to comfort. No less emotional 45 minutes later. Carried team all season, simply was crushed he didn’t drag it across line. Ultimate respect.

- Valparaiso wins the Class 5A state title! Final score: Valparaiso 35, Whiteland 31 Rocco Micciche 11-yard TD catch from Justin Clark with 19 seconds left. Unbelievable! Vikings win their second state championship, adding to the one from 1975.
