    So @BarackObama said a cop “acted stupidly,” and law enforcement got enraged, charged him with betraying them, his polls numbers tanked, he’s called a racist, but @realDonaldTrump calls a cop a “coward” and “disgusting,” and not a hint of criticism from law enforcement.

    50% of the Atlanta Police Department not showing up last night because of “blue flu” may be the most powerful argument for abolishing our police departments yet given. Other departments can render services and keep us safe as we shift resources and consciousness all at once.

    Why am I heading to my 6 year-old grandson’s elementary school in affluent neighborhood in DC because a white kid called him a “nigger” & threatened to go get a gun & shoot him??? The kid not yet kicked out nor the police called ??? Welcome again to Trump’s white racist America.

    Jacob Blake defied odds to survive an unjustified assault by police. But with each of these acts of unabashed brutality, we, the broad and beautiful Black diaspora collectively die a little more, suffocating under the unjust burden placed upon our shoulders. We. Can’t. Breathe.

    As ex church pastor, I stand with my friend & brother ⁦@JussieSmollett⁩. Either God created everybody, or God created nobody! Stop using God to co-sign your bigotry. Stamp out homophobia and hatred. If u say “I love the sinner but hate the sin,” you’re part of the problem.

    I shared a long plane ride with @NipseyHussle right as his major label debut album Victory Lap dropped. We journeyed from Los Angeles to New York on an epic trip, discussing weighty intellectual matters & soul charging moral/racial concerns. He was one of the most intelligent (1)

    Smoking weed ain’t the problem. It’s weeding out the hypocrisy of a nation that started a war on drugs to justify its assault on Black folk, and then blames us for smoking, when what we really need is to smoke out the racism that blunts the lives of too many of our people.

    I grew up in Detroit in the 60s. This is a stark reminder of the deep hatred of blackness felt by many white folk who lived in the suburbs but who exploited the city’s services and resources before fleeing back to “safety.” “Stop the count” may as well be “Stop the blacks.” Sad.
