    Today we honored @kobebryant by allowing students to annotate his retirement poem. They also learned about the importance of perseverance. After, students had to ball up their worst fears and take a shot for points. You must yell “Kobe” when you take your shot! They loved it!

    I'm praying for every teacher in Indiana right now. The expectation for someone to post year long lesson plans by June is utterly ridiculous. At this point, it seems as if people are creating ideas and laws to make teachers leave our profession.

    Yesterday I flew to my new school (@ronclarkacademy) to meet my new 4th grade students and their parents. It’s a tradition that if you are new to the school, you have to dance down the red carpet! Every student & teacher should be welcomed into a new environment like this! ❤️

    A teacher can catch a felony charge for having a book in their classroom… But then people question how come we can’t attract more people into the profession? They can’t be serious 😂

    Today, my father graduated from @ECSU. His reason for going back to college at 55 years old was: “I wanted to prove it to myself that I could do it.” Well dad, you did it. You are my hero and the reason I am who I am today.

    I’m praying for teachers all across the world right now. Especially my educational family in Texas and Florida. The mental and emotional toil that’s being inflicted on our profession right now is ridiculous.

    My brilliant nephew’s birthday is Saturday. He has never flown on an airplane before...So it was only right that I fly him to Philadelphia for the @iste conference! He walked out on stage with me and saw thousands of educators celebrate him. My heart is full of joy ❤️ #iste19
