We are disturbed to have learned that a disabled woman from Newport was arrested by Gwent Police yesterday after posting stickers in support of women’s rights.
We understand that the woman was held for eleven hours without access to essential medication, her house was .. 1/3

- We are making a formal complaint to the Standards Commissioner about @PrifWeinidog's disgraceful response to @LauraJ4SWEast
- Replying to @MerchedCymru.. searched, she was questioned and then released at 3.30am to find her own way home. Her phone had been confiscated so she was unable to contact her family or call a taxi. We are in contact with the woman and supporting her to ensure she gets the appropriate legal advice. 2/3
- Replying to @MerchedCymruWe do not want to jeopardise or prejudice the legal process so will not comment any further at this stage. 3/3
- We are opposed to Drag Queen Story Hour. We object to children being used to validate adults & to the misogyny inherent in drag queen performances. It does not benefit children nor increase LGB or T acceptance. Thanks to @SafeSchools_UK for this overview.
- Replying to @MerchedCymruHis angry dismissal of her concerns as ‘shrill’ was clearly discriminatory. This insult is reserved exclusively for women who men wish to silence or ignore. It is a sexist trope that has no place in the Senedd, and which we had assumed was now a part of history.
- How do you empower girls and young women by erasing them? This is incoherent, dehumanising, and beyond sexist. An organisation is 'breaking the taboo around periods' by setting up a taboo around the naming of girls & women. @WelshGovernment should be ashamed. @WGHealthandCare

- We have submitted a formal complaint to the @SeneddWales Standards Commissioner regarding the conduct of @PrifWeinidog. The sexist and dismissive nature of his response to @LauraJ4SWEast shows contempt for women and for the democratic process.
- A Welsh Labour MP has accused the Welsh government of adopting Stonewall's misinterpretation of equality law. Does this mean that at long last the Welsh media is breaking its silence on the complex &anti-democratic relationship between Welsh Government >
- Replying to @MerchedCymruWe can only assume that the category of ‘people like her’ include the many thousands of women who are fighting to retain our legal right to single-sex spaces, services and sporting opportunities – in Wales, in the UK and across the world.
- Replying to @MerchedCymruThese are not ‘dog-whistle concerns’; they are fundamental human rights issues, including the right to not be discriminated against, the right to safety, dignity and respect, and the right to free speech in a democratic society.
- Replying to @MerchedCymruThe ad hominem linking of Ms Jones’ question on the meaning of the word ‘woman’ (which goes to the heart of our sex-based rights) with racism and attacks on asylum-seekers was highly disingenuous and a clear attempt both to avoid the issue and to discredit Ms Jones personally.
- This story is concerning not only for women's rights in Wales, but for democracy. @WelshGovernment is not denying that the leaked draft Bill is genuine, only that it is not the latest version. They claim that they aim to ensure equal representation .. archive.ph/jNWdn
