- In a small rural cemetery near Newark lies the inventor of the CT scanner. Yesterday at a dear friend’s funeral there, a wreath was laid on his grave in tribute to the tool that identified her tumours in 2012 and 2019 granting her that last precious 12 years.

- A friend in Skye has just sent me this from the petrol station in Broadford. No other petrol for miles. Absolutely outrageous

- Today is the anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing where 22 ( mostly young girls died) and also the anniversary of Lee Rigby’s murder by a jihadist in the streets of London . The country feels no safer today.
