Interesting statistic from Saturday’s high school championship games. The highest attendance of the day was the D4 game—the smallest schools; the game that started in the morning. 😴 Great turnout from the @MarionLocalBB and @CCA_HOOPS fans!
Early in the Mentor-St. Ignatius game, a fan in the Mentor student section held up a sign that read “No Tuition, Lots Of Women.” It was promptly confiscated by a Mentor administrator. 😌 @MentorRedline
Week 10 is upon us, and we have a new #1 ☝️in the Top 25! Also, 2 new entries: Canfield @CANFIELDFOOTBAL on a 7-game winning streak, and Olmsted Falls @OFalls_Bulldogs set for a showdown in Berea with @BMHSTitanFB for a share of the SWC crown 🏈 @Ohio_SWC
For those obsessed with the public vs. private debate in Ohio HS sports, the breakdown of the final 56 teams in the football playoffs is: 47 public, 9 private.
I understand the goal of reduced travel, and I appreciate that teams can earn an extra home game…but I really miss the old sectional tournament format. Doubleheaders galore, great scouting opportunities, and (nearly) every game was a special event. @OHSAASports@_nedab 🏀
Congratulations to Pick Central’s @JaidonLipscomb for being named MVP of the 1st annual Kenny Anderson Basketball Showcase! Shown with event director @iancle1 and the man himself @chibbs_1
