    Well, I guess it’s Twitter Official…Yesterday I was promoted to Professor with tenure @Caltech in @CaltechCCE. I am beyond grateful to my amazing students, colleagues, mentors, family, and friends that helped me get here. I feel truly lucky. Thank you!

    An order of nBuLi for our lab was apparently delivered to a Halloween store in east LA by mistake. It was eventually transported to Caltech via the fire dept. All worked out OK thankfully, but seriously weird! #chemsafety #crazyhalloweenparty

    A friendly reminder (to myself included) that the student/postdoc/trainee on the receiving end of your referee report likely put their ❤️ & soul into the manuscript you’re reviewing. Critical, constructive feedback is great! But negative, spiteful criticism is unhelpful #BeKind

    🤯 TBH, when I started this job, NIH funding was not even on my radar. Grateful to @NIGMS for this opportunity! Excited to advance our molecular release (mechano)chemistry and for new directions and challenges. Kudos (and many thanks) to @TheRobbGroup for all their contributions!

    At my 1st ACS meeting as an undergrad I was in line at Starbucks and felt a towering presence behind me. I was absolutely starstruck. I told @echemkim later that “Bob Grubbs was in line behind me!” Nearly a decade later I had the honor to call Bob my colleague. I will miss him.

    The Division is saddened to report the passing of Robert Grubbs. The outpouring of memories being shared is a testament to his profound impact and influence as a professor, mentor, colleague & friend -- not only in the chemistry community, but beyond. He will be greatly missed.
