Our office has reached out to NYPD Transit District 30 about this cruel incident on the 7th Avenue F/G Station. This sort of violent broken windows policing does nothing to keep us safe. Assaulting someone for skipping a turnstile is an abuse of power by the NYPD.

If you are homeless, we should absolutely provide shelter for you, but just because you managed to physically arrive here does not mean you are entitled to a free apartment!
