I've followed 2 drafts closely. 2017-2018. 2017- 7 of the top 10 players weren't drafted in the top 10. 3 of the top 5 and 7 of the top 10 players were busts. 2018- SGA was taken 11th, and half the top 10 weren't drafted in the top 10. Most 1st round picks aren't factors.

How bad was the Luka trade: If the Mavs offered AD, Christie, Kyrie, Flagg, and the Lakers their picks back.... Pelinka would laugh and hang up the phone.

Not to be dramatic, but watching AD slogging through a game against the Wizards while Luka is dropping 45 on the Wolves with Dirk announcing might end up being a pivotal moment in my life. The Mavs have been a major part of my life for 30 years, but.... What's the point?

Why was there so much focus on OKC's age and almost no mention of Dallas'? Kyrie Irving is the only contributing player over 30. DJJ is the 2nd oldest at 27 Luka, PJ, and Gafford are only 25 Hardy 21 Lively 20. The world is sleeping on the Mav's youth, and it is weird.

Who is gonna lead the Mavs GM hiring process when they fire Nico? It can't be Dumont. It can't be Cuban. It can't be anyone within the organization who had any foreknowledge of the Luka trade and didn't stop it. There is only one man I trust to lead us out of hell.

"If healthy" are two words you never want mentioned in the construction of your roster. It's the kiss of death. Go listen to every NBA analyst talk about Dallas the past 6 months, and they almost always start with the "if healthy" qualifier.

If I'm the Mavericks, I don't trade Hardy or Green. The Suns just gave up their best young players and draft capital for Durant. Their 2nd and 3rd best players are 34 and 37, with major injury history. Hardy and Green give you a path forward over the next 5 years.
