    NEWS: I'm told the Hurricanes and forward Logan Stankoven are close on a long-term contract extension. Stankoven, acquired from the Stars in the Mikko Rantanen trade, has 1 year left on his entry-level deal so the extension wouldn't kick in until 2026-27.
