    Our entire Comet Family grieves the loss of @MHSComets Class of 2019's Ben Tavella. Ben was a fiercely independent, witty, bright young man, who had defied many odds and was pursuing engineering. Please keep Ben's family and friends in your hearts and prayers.

    Our Comet family is grieving tonight after one of our ME 3rd graders, JJ Day, died unexpectedly today. JJ was a great friend who loved the color blue, soccer & adored his older sisters. We invite everyone to show our love and support for JJ and his family by wearing blue on Mon.

    BRRRR! It's awfully cold outside & predicted to be even colder tomorrow w/ temps dipping below MCS threshold for closing. So, ALL Mason City Schools will be CLOSED on Wed, January 30, 2019 due to the frigid temperatures. Feel free to tell @cooperlearns (& his sons) thank you!

    This evening, Mason City Schools Superintendent @cooperlearns announced that he has withdrawn his name to lead the Poudre School District in Ft. Collins, Colorado. "There's no place I'd rather be than Mason."
