- When people tag me in the comments of these things it just reminds me that most fans/the media only celebrate white AFAB gender creative people. As a Mexican/indigenous non-binary person who’s been a lead in 3 large fantasy/sci-fi shows in the past 2 years, we need to do better.
- Remember when JK equated Graham Norton’s quote that “we should listen to trans people” to him “throwing support behind rape and death threats” and ran him off Twitter? Seems she does it anytime someone approaches this subject with any nuance. As any bully does. Deplorable.Deeply disappointed @jessiegender doesn't realise purethink is incompatible with owning ANYTHING connected with me, in ANY form. The truly righteous wouldn't just burn their books and movies but the local library, anything with an owl on it and their own pet dogs. #DoBetter 1/2
- Thinking about this Sandman page a lot recently, but especially now. Sending love to all of my trans siblings who are seeing an onslaught of hate online, I hope we can continue to pick ourselves up and take it one day at a time.I will always remember this Sandman page from 1992 by @neilhimself and Shawn McManus, and it weighs particularly heavily on my mind today
- JK seems incapable of having a nuanced take beyond “I want MY personal exclusionary definition of womanhood to be enforced and anyone who thinks otherwise is eroding my rights.” Equality is not a pizza, you don’t lose slices when someone else is invited to the table to eat.Men defining what a woman is, what women should and shouldn’t fear, what women should and shouldn’t say, what rights women should be fine with giving up and, of course, what constitutes ‘real’ misogyny: get a bloody mirror. That’s real misogyny, looking right back at you.
