    James Milner and Lee Clark came on as subs for Newcastle in a 2-0 PL defeat at Bolton on 24th August 2005. Today, just three days over 17 years later, James Milner and Bobby Clark (Lee’s son) came on as subs for Liverpool in a 9-0 PL win against Bournemouth #NUFC #LFC

    BREAKING: A supporter-led takeover of Gateshead has been COMPLETED. Paperwork was drawn up late last night and funds were transferred just before midnight. The FA and National League have been made aware of the deal. More to follow on the @SunderlandEcho website #HeedArmy

    Newcastle look to have picked up a real gem in Sven Botman. He may have some awkward moments during his first season in the PL as he adapts but he has been very good so far. Power, pace, good in the air, distribution is excellent. Looks a proper player #NUFC

    Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon have 65 goal contributions (goals and assists) in 96 appearances between them this season. Unless they’re injured there is no reason why both/neither have had any game time in either game so far. Crying out for them here and have been for a while.

    Thought @alanshearer absolutely nailed the analysis of England throughout that game. Could sense the frustration in his voice and surely matched the vast majority of everyone watching. The Bellamy/Gordon comparison is one I’ve seen used many times and it’s absolutely spot on.

    There’ll be a lot of talk of Loris Karius and his performance in the Champions League Final. What shouldn’t be forgotten is that he played each and every minute in helping Liverpool get to the final and kept six clean sheets on the way #NUFC

    You'd be gutted if you left this Northern League game on 90 minutes. A quite extraordinary comeback from Division Two leaders Yarm and Eaglescliffe as they score four injury-time goals to claim a 6-5 win after being 5-2 down on 91 minutes.

    Dubravka has gone weirdly under the radar recently but he remains a very important part of any #NUFC side. He has his critics but he’s still a very, very good goalkeeper.
