Sources: Jonah Tong’s name briefly came up in talks with the Brewers about Freddy Peralta before the Mets quickly ended that discussion. The Brewers have since submitted an offer, Brandon Sproat and Jett Williams for Freddy. The Mets have been unwilling to pay that price.

DeGrom, Scherzer and Bassitt wasn’t enough to make it past the Wild Card in 2022. Scherzer and Verlander led to sellers at the deadline in 2023. Severino, Quintana, Manaea, Peterson and Megill has gotten them to the NLCS. That’s incredible.

Jacob DeGrom pitched over 4 innings today, facing 13 batters. He struck out 10 of them. One Mets source said “he looks like Jake”. They expect him back soon.

Juan Soto is legitimately having the best month in New York Mets history.

Source: Francisco Lindor has told Steve Cohen he’d like the team to target Carlos Correa to play Third Base for the club. The team has been in recent discussions and is considered to be a real player for Correa. Giants and Twins among others remain strongly in.

IF the Mets get eliminated, the season was a huge success. Sellers last year, a projected win total of 82.5. NLCS appearance with $173 million coming off the books. Outlook is much better than it was supposed to be, with an MVP player in Lindor and an emerging star in Vientos.

Lindor plays defense. Ohtani doesn’t. Lindor is the leader in WAR in the NL. Ohtani is not. Don’t be fooled, the MVP of the NL this year should absolutely be Francisco Lindor, but the Ohtani HR’s will wow the voters and it’s a shame.

The Camilo Doval trade is the WORST of the deadline, and it isn’t even close. No high end prospect received for a fantastic RP under team control until 2028. Terrible!

Sources: Ohtani sweepstakes are moving along and the Texas Rangers and at least one team in the AL East has dropped out. Teams who feel they aren’t real players are beginning to take themselves out of talks.

A great season for the #Mets. $173M off the books. Mark Vientos a star from seemingly out of nowhere. Lindor’s greatness continued. The future is bright.

SOURCE: #Rockies GM Jeff Bridich’s seat is now scorching hot. Facing pressure, Rockies are opening back up talks. Arenado told Rockies to either add for playoffs or trade him, and they did neither. #Mets and #Dodgers in discussions in addition to current front-runner #Cardinals

This New York Mets team is gonna be really freaking good.

The New York Mets are now unquestionably the big ballers of New York. No deferrals, 765M over 15 years. If Steve Cohen really wants someone, like he showed today, he WILL get them. Unprecedented and incredible. Mets fans are lucky and in for an incredibly exciting next 15 years.
