The #Panthers fired Ron Rivera today. I thought of this scene at Levi’s Stadium the day before Super Bowl 50. After the official team photo, he wanted to take his own pictures of his players.

“I love America. I love people. That’s why I’m doing this. I want to help make America better.” Colin Kaepernick Sept. 2, 2016
Ben Carson says Colin Kaepernick and black NFL players who protest police brutality would not be criticized for kneeling if they just said they love America. Problem solved.

I don't often criticize officiating, but this is ridiculous. This "all-star crew" is trying to prove how good they are.

Fred Warner on #49ers scout-team-QB-turned-starter Brock Purdy: "He’s played against the best defense in the league for the past 13 weeks. He’ll be fine."

Fred Warner might be the best player in the entire NFL. And that is not hyperbole. What a brutal injury for one of the classiest men I've ever had the privilege of covering in this game.

Brock Purdy's 332 yards passing are the most for a #49ers QB in the postseason since Joe Montana's 357 yards against the Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII.

After the game, WR Jauan Jennings said he thought the football from his first career NFL touchdown was lost forever. It turns out someone grabbed it for him in the back of the end zone and made sure it was kept secure. That person? #49ers teammate George Kittle.

Kyle Shanahan on Brock Purdy: "He’s definitely the most-poised rookie (quarterback) I’ve ever had."

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Johnathan Abram's ankle-twisting of Deebo Samuel "pissed the team off." The 49ers put their collective foot down after that and pulled away.

The first time Colin Kaepernick took a knee during the playing of the national anthem, he later that evening stood at attention for an in-game singing of God Bless America. Afterward, I asked him why. “I love America. ... That’s why I’m doing this." instagram.com/p/CA3DDkdFZer/

This is not a rent-a-player situation, either. Christian McCaffrey is under contract -- now with the 49ers -- through the 2025 season.

One year ago, the #49ers thought a key in the Super Bowl was going to be how the game was called. Going in, they thought the Chiefs could be called for defensive holding or PI on almost every play. No penalties were called on KC’s secondary, but George Kittle was flagged for OPI.
