I went to the field to conduct an RCT, leaving behind my 9 months old son. I missed him so bad that I’d sometimes cry. I had to buy them a ticket—using my PhD student salary 😂—to join me. I would put him in a kangaroo pouch and visit the schools I was working with…

    - It’s mentally/emotionally hard to be away from young kids, leading to fewer conferences/trips, or short trips, missing conference dinners - I don’t think fathers experience this “emotional pain” - I got back to my pre-kids travel once my youngest turned 3. That’s a long time.

It’s really funny how some students get in the classroom then leave thinking that they are in the wrong class... The reason being that they didn’t expect their Econ TA to be Black 😀😆!

Running RCTs will not help Africa... Maybe a lot of economists out there don’t even know anything about the continent except what they see on TV. How can you find a solution if you dont know the problem! #ProudAfrican #YMPITB_DreamChaser

Ouch: WB chief economist leaves job after higher officials block publication of internal research showing a correlation between foreign aid to developing economies (including WB aid) and jumps in their deposits in foreign financial havens economist.com/finance-and-ec…

I read *a lot* of scientific abstracts that are missing key elements. The 5 things a good abstract needs: 1. Introduce the topic, 2. State the unknown, 3. Outline the method used to answer the question, 4. Preview the findings, and 5. Tell us what your work teaches us.
