It may seem shocking to hear stats like 7.5% of US population have #LongCovid, but I bring it up in conversation & will hear… “yeah, I get dizzy randomly while I’m up now” or “My vision has never been the same since” or “I can’t exercise like I did before.”

There can be a delay in presentation. Inflammatory cytokines were found (even in CSF) months after mild covid. Autoimmunity takes time, too.
Can people in society who are sick (even if you think it’s not covid) have the courtesy to at least wear a mask in public?

One (nonvalidated) screening question I will ask people with #LongCovid is “How many times do you shower/take a bath a week?”
It’s very telling on energy levels.
Was in a meeting where I was asked, “Can I call you Monica?”
Which was fine. But then he kept on calling the other physician in the meeting (a man) “Doctor.”
I politely call him out & explained gender bias. Language is powerful. Let’s change the landscape.
