- A message from Supt. Graff: "I wanted to share with you that tonight in a special meeting, the Board of Education unanimously approved its resolution to immediately terminate our contract with the Minneapolis Police Department, which provides us w/ our School Resource Officers."
- Due to the dangerously cold weather, @YouthLinkMN will be open 24/7 as a warming station for youth ages 16-24 from Mon, Jan. 28 - Frid, Feb. 1. The warming station includes a hot meal, cots to sleep, and access to jackets, gloves, boots, hats and hand-warmers. 41 N 12th St.

- While Governor Walz announced yesterday an end to the statewide mask requirement, MPS would like to clarify to families and staff that for the remainder of the school year, we will continue to require everyone to wear masks indoors in our schools, buses and other MPS buildings.

- Congrats to Washburn High School 11th grader, Helen Hedge, who was appointed to Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor's Young Women’s Cabinet. This group of young women leaders will share their voices, ideas and stories and help guide decision-making affecting women across MN.
- MPS will be closed on Monday, April 16. All district offices, including the Davis Education Center and the Student Placement Services Office, will be closed. Minneapolis Kids sites will be closed and all Minneapolis Community Education evening classes are canceled as well.
- All Minneapolis Public Schools (and District Offices) are closed Monday, Jan. 28 due to heavy snow. We are cancelling school to ensure student safety as transportation delays due to snow-packed streets would be unavoidable.
