Who could imagine two years ago that our modern world blessed by computer power, AI, the Internet, molecular biology & space travel would resort to the medieval method of lockdown. Only brave Sweden stood against the fear & panic. Her reward: no delta cases & no excess death.

US COVID19 will be done in 4 weeks with a total reported death below 170,000. How will we know it is over? Like for Europe, when all cause excess deaths are at normal level for week. Reported COVID19 deaths may continue after 25 Aug. & reported cases will, but it will be over.

Is SARS-CoV-2 mutating to be less lethal? @TheLancet says so thelancet.com/journals/lance…. Was told this happens by the virologist friends I still had in March. It is what coronavirus viruses do when they have enough cycles of reproduction. Lock down impedes this natural weakening.

It turns out that Sheba Hospital which is the leading panic authority in Israel regarding Covid is now stating that contrary to what they thought Covid is a normal disease and that people who recover are much better immune than vaccinated ones.

Gompertz straight-line J(t) forecasts converge. Daily cases peak 12/25 at ~25,000 Omicron daily cases. Christmas gift to world: 1) Shows 'expo-talk' like "doubles in 3 days" meaningless. Gompertz always slows. 2) Shows low 'O' lethality, CFR=0.26%. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

Why was this pinned so long? Today, CDC excess deaths to 29 Aug. are 14% below baseline as predicted in July. This is the first time since March that delay-corrected death data fell below baseline. Excess death in the Mar.-Aug. 20 COVID-19 season may be over. A huge milestone!

Aware of my prediction, here is latest CDC data (dated 1 Aug. posted 12 Aug.) cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr…. Corrected for delays, Excess Death is near baseline so it may be over by 25 Aug. Reported CV Death is 169,350 so my estimate too low. Still happy COVID19 death may be over soon.

Another one of the “OMG” moments is this crazy global roller-coaster that is COVID19. I do not know whether to be happy for John and the the truth revealed or profoundly sad for all the damage done along the way.

If vaccination reduces personal risk without reducing COVID-19 transmission, it is still important to enforce. Same way seat belts, motorcycle & bike helmets are enforced. Perhaps we should now enforce no-smoking, low-sugar diets & regular exercise? It would save so many lives!
