- Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) John Collier celebrated his 100th birthday today. Collier became a Marine in 1940 and served during the Battle of Guadalcanal, and as a drill instructor on PI in 1945. In 1950, Collier deployed and fought at the Chosin Reservoir. Semper Fi, Sgt. Maj. Collier!
