    Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) John Collier celebrated his 100th birthday today. Collier became a Marine in 1940 and served during the Battle of Guadalcanal, and as a drill instructor on PI in 1945. In 1950, Collier deployed and fought at the Chosin Reservoir. Semper Fi, Sgt. Maj. Collier!

    This morning, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island continues to be inundated with rain from Tropical Storm Debby and remains under a shelter in place order. A shelter in place order restricts movement across the base for all permanent personnel and recruits in training.
