    McCook Community College sophomore Max Mrakovcic has been named the Region IX Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Against Trinidad on Friday, Mrakovcic pitched seven innings, allowed four hits, no earned runs and struck out a season-high 10 hitters.

    MCC freshman Louie Tucker has signed a letter of intent to play basketball next season with Stetson University, a D1 school in DeLand. Fla. Tucker was third team all-Region IX, Omaha WH All-Midlands JUCO team and all-NCCAC. He averaged 14.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
