    COVID-19 continues to impact the Canadian economy. As such, Marine Atlantic is rolling back the 2021 rate increase to help enable a strong return for the economy. Customers who have or will travel after April 1, 2021, will receive a refund for the cost difference.

    On October 14, 1942, the SS Caribou was en route from North Sydney to Port aux Basques when it was torpedoed by a German U-boat. Of the 237 people who were on the vessel, 137 were unable to be rescued. Lest We Forget.

    Marine Atlantic continues to monitor storm conditions related to Hurricane Fiona. At this time, there is no significant damage reported with our terminal properties or vessels. The public is advised that there is a water boil advisory in place the Town of Port aux Basques.
