It's publication day! I'm so proud of this book. Everything I have and everything I've experienced as a disabled woman is in these pages I hope you love her dk.com/uk/book/978024…

Yes, some people who get disability benefits can run marathons because - I hate to break it to you - not all disabilities affect your legs

A mostly nondisabled friend looked at me the other day and said "I'm not sure how I feel about assisted dying but it's interesting that if anyone else is suicidal we do everything to stop them but if they're disabled we want to help them" yeah, I can't stop thinking about that

I can't drink without plastic straws. For years I've bought clear ones online (look a bit nicer than kids' ones). Since the straw ban they've got more expensive and now they've disappeared If your environmentalism only affects disabled people, it's not as progressive as you think

Just a reminder that the DWP itself estimates the PIP fraud rate at 0%

Going to regret tweeting this but Disabled people, where are we getting single use plastic straws now? They've disappeared off Amazon Nondisabled people, do not tweet me about alternatives. Just believe that I know my needs

Imagine for a second being told that you are too disabled for a non-disabled person to love. That's how my Wednesday is going

I just received this email from a 'professional' dating service. I have been crying for an hour. When I spoke to them on the phone they said that my disability was fine, but when I clarified that I was a wheelchair user, this:

A video of me calling for feminism to care about disabled women has attracted 500* comments calling me a vegetable, a dishwasher, saying I should be put in a home, and repeatedly using the r word. I've never experienced hate like it The vast majority are from men

It's been a month since I was turned down from a dating agency for being too disabled. I can't seem to stop thinking about it. I really don't want anyone's sympathy, I just wanted to say ableism has very real mental health consequences and it's exhausting
