My new book, The Lasting Harm – which centres the voices, stories and lives of the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell instead of giving a platform to their perpetrators – will be published on July 4. I’d be so grateful if you would consider pre-ordering it here:

16 years ago, I was violently raped in a McDonald’s bathroom by a man who I thought would kill me when it was over. Today I ducked into a McDonald’s bathroom to check my make-up on the way to Buckingham Palace to talk to Camilla about rape reform and ending violence against women

In case anyone is in need of a timeline cleanse, we have nine baby fox cubs living in our garden and this is the view from my bed right now

🧵: The “false allegations of rape” storyline is one of society’s most successful conspiracy theories and one of our most pervasive moral panics. Of course, it happens. All humans are capable of lying. But the number of false allegations is NOT statistically significant. 1/4

Johnny Depp won’t see your posts turning Amber Heard’s graphic rape allegations into a humiliating meme, but your friends who have survived sexual violence will. #DeppVsHeard

Heard’s closing: “Think about the message Mr Depp and his legal team are sending to Ms Heard and, by extension, all victims of domestic abuse: If you didn’t take pictures, it didn’t happen. If you did take pictures, they’re fake.”

People are using this tweet to further their transphobic agendas so I just want to say: none of that shit is welcome here. Using a story like mine argue that trans women shouldn’t be allowed in women’s bathrooms is despicable. I will always support and fight for trans rights ❤️

Recovering from this, and living with the consequences of it, has sometimes felt unbearable. If I’m honest, there have been days when I wish I hadn’t survived that night. Today is not one of them.

A therapist said to me once: “Often, when a narcissist makes an accusation, they are actually making a confession” and… 🤯

It's wild how many people believe Amber Heard is lying despite a UK court already finding that Depp abused her 12 times, despite there being video footage of him being violent and despite there being text messages in which he threatens to burn her alive and fuck her burnt corpse.

so I was just crying on the tube and some guy came up to me and obvs I expected him to tell me off (I grew up being taught that expressing emotion is bad) & he just kindly said “sometimes, you just have to cry on the tube.” Anyway the point is people are good and kindness is real
